A column by Amy Davidoff, Ph.D., professor of biomedical sciences in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, was recently published in the Journal Tribune鈥檚 monthly publication York County Health & Wellness.

Davidoff contributed a piece for the publication鈥檚 January/February issue that focuses on heart disease awareness.

鈥淗eart Smart: Easier said than done?鈥� discusses realistic behavioral modifications that can help lower the risk of heart disease. She stresses the importance of setting goals that are not overwhelming. 鈥淲hat will small, measureable goals do?鈥� she asks. 鈥淭hey can help us change unhealthy habits in a way that is realistic and sustainable.鈥�

Davidoff continues, 鈥淒enying ourselves things we love is not realistic, but if we start cutting down on portions or swap an apple for potato chips twice a week, it is a start.鈥�
