David Mokler co-authors paper on early childhood malnutrition

David Mokler, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmacology in the 麻豆传媒 College of Osteopathic Medicine has co-authored a paper titled, 鈥淒NA Methylation Signature of Early Childhood Malnutrition Associated with Impairments in Attention and Cognition鈥� in the journal, Biological Psychiatry.

The paper reports on changes in DNA both in adult humans exposed to prenatal protein malnutrition as well as changes in a rat model of prenatal protein malnutrition, and how these changes are associated with deficits in attention and cognition in both humans and animals. The paper was co-authored with colleagues from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine and the University of New Hampshire.
